Gardeners Market

Saturday 26th March, Church Rooms, 10-1pm

Saturday, 26th March was our spring Gardeners Market and 4th Annual Seedy Saturday at the Church Rooms, Lostwithiel, between 10am and 1pm.

Featuring:

  • annual plant, seedling & seed swap
  • Lostwithiel in Bloom plants
  • renovated tools, cloches, bird boxes
  • Lost Threads upcycled crafts
  • Pinsla nursery
  • St Winnow's school new sensory garden
  • teas, coffee and refreshments

In addition... Maggies Emporium was raising money for replacement benches on Lostwithiel Station platform.

The event was a huge success with lots of money raised for Lostwithiel in Bloom, Transition projects and the Rural Stations Project. Pinsla Nursery had a great day and sold out of most of their plants, and best of all loads of plants and seeds were swapped. Totals raised were:

  • Lostwithiel in Bloom £80
  • Lost Threads £41.50
  • Transition Lostwithiel £55.91

The weekly Saturday morning plant swap will restart on April 2nd at 10am in St Bartholomew's churchyard and continue through the summer. For the last 2 years this has been increasing in popularity and is now popular fixture next to the weekly Friends of St Bartholomew's book sale. In addition to allowing people to swap plants, seeds and produce for free, it has also allowed Transition Lostwithiel to donate £50 each year to church restoration funds.
