APPLE AND PUMPKIN DAY

Lostwithiel Community Centre, Saturday 22nd October, noon till 4pm

Lostwithiel Community Centre held an apple and pumpkin day as part of LostFeast 2011, the celebration of food and drink in Lostwithiel held during the October half-term week.

Visitors were able to see apple identification, apple produce, take part in apple competitions, use an apple press, and bring their apples to be identified.

A pumpkin carving competition was held, and the pumpkins entered were displayed at the Community Centre during LostFeast week.

Transition Lostwithiel supported the event with a stall where we had apple bobbing, apple tree hoopla (with toffee apple prizes), an amazing apple device which peeled, cored and sliced apples (and pears!) in one go. There were also home-made chutneys, Abundance apples to takeaway, Lost Threads creations and other goodies on sale.
